HCA Fundraiser

Middle and high school students are planning a trip to the Creation Museum in Kentucky this summer, and are selling homemade heating pads as a fundraiser.  The 100% cotton microwaveable rice bags (used as cordless heating pads) are available for sale: large bags will be $6 and small bags $4. Contact the HCA office to purchase yours!

Rice Bag user testimonial: “You can store them in the freezer also. I have had one for over 15 years that just stays in the freezer all the time for my headaches. That way it is always cold and you just pull it out. (hint: The bag in the freezer can take on a strange smell; store it in a Ziploc bag.) If you want to heat it up, you just let it sit out of the freezer for about 5 minutes, then put it in the microwave heating it 30 seconds at a time. I take it out, shake it, turn it over and heat again until it is as hot as I want it. You can add drops of essential oils to the outside of the bag too, for the aromatherapy benefits. We use lavender to relax for headaches, peppermint for headaches, eucalyptus for sinus issues, etc. You can find a lot of information online about them.” -Jennifer
